Online gambling: MEPs aim to better regulate sector's development

Online gambling as a sector was worth €6 bn inwards 2008 but by 2013 this figure is expected to double. It’s a rapidly growing part of the wider gambling manufacture, which is worth around €80 bn and employs hundreds of thousands of people. withal, at the moment online gambling is regulated largely at Member State level, with different rules and barriers for entry applying inwards different countries. Nevertheless, the European Commission released a greenish paper before inwards 2011 focusing on futurity regulatory developments inwards this sector and the European parliament has recently responded to the Commission with its own report on how to support this burgeoning manufacture.
