The Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi on Monday approved a long-pending Bill to ban online gambling, which includes online rummy and poker with stakes inwards the State. The legislation, called the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Online Gambling and Regulation of Online Games Bill, also seeks to regulate online gaming including fantasy sports which may now need vetting by a multi-member committee, Justice K Chandru, retired Madras High Court justice who led the 4-member committee tasked with giving recommendations on online gambling inwards the state, told ET.
